Welcome to part 3 of Diana's Adventures in Ebook Publishing!
In this episode, I open my account with BookBaby.
Reminder: I'm partnering with BookBaby to format, publish, and distribute my ebook in exchange for blogging about it. (Disclosure here.)
The first step is setting up an account. Pretty painless. I went to www.bookbaby.com, clicked on the "sign up" tab, and got this screen:
The only tricky information was step 3: "How should we pay you?" After BookBaby distributes my ebook to the major etailers, billions of people will of course be clammoring to buy it. (And I have no idea how to spell clammoring.) BookBaby sends me 100% of the proceeds whenever it reaches an amount I specify--every $20, $50, $100, or whatever. I selected $50.
I can be paid by direct deposit, check, or PayPal. I selected PayPal, but may change that later since I don't know if PayPal takes out a percentage or not.
That's it. I clicked "submit" and I was signed up.
Oh, if writing a book were only that easy.
The next step in publishing my ebook is uploading it onto BookBaby's site. There's more I still have to do to finish my manuscript (yes, the one I thought was finished). More on that later.
Next time I'll tell you the news the world has been waiting for: What my ebook is about. (Of course you'll love it!)
Stay tuned.
Meanwhile if I can help you find the book buried deep inside you and get it on paper (or Kindle or iPad), just let me know.
