We love it when organizations want to partner with Born2Fly to help us -- and help others.
So please meet Trades of Hope, a wonderful organization that empowers women artisans out of poverty in 11 countries by providing a marketplace for their beautiful handmade products.
From now until November 9, Trades of Hope will donate approximately 25% of online sales to Born2Fly when you use this link. I bought this bracelet that women in Uganda made from magazines:
Cereal boxes! I think I spot Rice Krispies.... Moms who would literally have to give away their children because they couldn't feed them (can you say "trafficking") can now make a sustainable living.
Or how about this lacey silvery bowl made by women in India who use the proceeds to send their children to school? It's a mere $28.80. Kids who stay in school are much less likely to be trafficked.
We teach the kids that every fingerprint is unique -- just like THEY are unique. So to me this bracelet says the same thing -- that the woman who made it is unique and valuable.
Reminder: Shopping season is upon us!
Hint, hint: Christmas and Hanukkah are just around the corner. You can make a dent in your shopping list AND empower women around the world AND help stop trafficking. How cool is that?
Just use this link: http://www.mytradesofhope.com/parties/5761. Remember you have just a few weeks to do it!
Can you say "awesome"?
