Shhh, don’t tell Diana, but we hijacked her blog to let you know her birthday's around the corner—on November 5. If you know Diana, you know she considers her birthday a national holiday. We’ve got a plan to help her celebrate—but we need your help.
Diana’s trying to raise funds for the child-trafficking awareness project that her non-profit organization,
Born to Fly International, is launching (
www.born2fly.org).
B2F will educate millions of girls around the world to make sure they don't get trafficked for s ex.
Diana came up with something called $10x10K. A lot of people can't give a huge amount right now, but she figured most people could chip in $10. And if 10,000 people would do that, it would mean $100,000 to launch the B2F project.
There's only one problem: Diana doesn’t know 10,000 people. (Frankly, we’re not sure she knows anyone besides us.) So we figured we’d better help her out—by finding 10,000 women to chip in $10 each.
When Diana wasn’t looking, we added this clever little widget to her blog:
Just click the orange button and you can chip in $10 for the B2F Project. You donate by PayPal or credit card, so it’s safe and secure. You even get a tax receipt because Born to Fly International is a 501c3 non-profit organization.
Just so you know, your $10 goes to the B2F Project not to Diana personally. The funds will be used to design, illustrate, print, and distribute the B2F awareness materials to girls around the world. Diana does take a tiny salary as president of Born to Fly International and a small payment for writing the materials, but believe us it’s many zeroes shy of what she’s trying to raise for the project.
So click the orange button and chip in $10. And if you know a few girlfriends who’d like to help stop child trafficking, forward this to them. Between us, we must know 10,000 women, right?
The action taken to local and national disasters is noble but it's a real shame that so many people take advantage of the negative situations.
I mean everytime there is an earthquake, a flood, an oil spill - there's always a group of heartless people who rip off tax payers.
This is in response to reading that 4 of Oprah Winfreys "angels" got busted ripping off the system. Shame on them!
