CNN.com has an on-line quiz to help you find out which city around the world you're most like.
I was shocked to learn the city I'm most like is Moscow. I'm not sure what qualifies me; even the description didn't fit me.
So I took it again and tweaked my answers (the multiple-choice Q & A is pretty cloudy). The result this time? Mumbai (Bombay), India--equally mystifying!
I've never been to Moscow, but I have been to Mumbai. I did some stories there right after the earthquake a few years ago when I traveled with an aid worker. Parts of the city are beautiful, particularly its location on the Arabian Sea--but parts of it are not so lovely. Mumbai has 200,000 women and girls working in brothels. I interviewed a young woman whose boyfriend drugged her and sold her into prostitution (she obviously escaped to tell her story).
My favorite international cities are Paris and Hong Kong (Florence is pretty cool, too). In the U.S., it's Washington DC (where I lived for 16 years), New York, and San Francisco.
Maybe I'll take the quiz again and see if I can come up with one of those cities.
